How was Wayne Gretzky able to score more goals (894) than any other player in NHL history? Wayne was able to master the ‘Art of the Slapshot ‘. Wayne Gretzky began his storied NHL career as a member of the Edmonton Oilers where he had a tendency for finding the back of the net. He began rewriting the NHL’s record books as an Oiler. Whether it is scoring 50 goals in the shortest amount of games (39), scoring the most goals (92), and scoring the most points (215) in a season all were accomplished as a member of the Oilers.
