Learning to skate at the age of two years old, it is no surprise that “The Great One” has always
had an innate desire and passion to be the best. Throughout his illustrious NHL career,
Gretzky consistently used his blazing speed and precise shooting to capitalize on the opposing
defenses despite being double and triple teamed much of the time. While skating during the
‘80s, Gretzky’s opportunistic play style captivated the league and led to him scoring
1,842 points over the course of the decade with the next closest player having just over 1,000 points.
