Every sport has its share of iconic uniforms, in baseball it’s the Yankee pinstripes, in basketball the Laker purple and gold, in football you have the Packer green and gold, and in hockey there isn’t a uniform that carries much more tradition and history than the Oilers blue and orange. The traditional Oilers jerseys with blue and orange were worn during the Wayne Gretzky dynasty years during the organizations’ four Stanley Cup titles with him in 1984, 1985, 1987, and 1988 as well as their Stanley Cup title without him in 1990. While the Oilers have changed color schemes a couple of times they returned back to the classic blue and orange for the 2022-2023 season due to popular demand from fans; it’s a jersey that’s tradition was built by Gretzky and now is seen on ice again today.
